Kuala Lumpur Halal — Muslim Friendly Guide to the Malaysian Capital

Kuala Lumpur is a city made for the Muslim traveler. Capital of an officially Islamic state, KL offers unmatched halal infrastructure in Asia: mosques in shopping malls, 100% JAKIM-certified halal food courts, alcohol-free hotels available, and a modern, accessible public transit system. An easy, modern, and contrast-rich city.
Must-See Spots in Kuala Lumpur
Petronas Towers
The world’s most famous twin towers (452m) dominate KL’s skyline. The sky bridge on the 41st floor offers a spectacular view. Book your tickets online — queues can be long. Integrated mosque in the KLCC complex.
Masjid Jamek — The Oldest Mosque
Built in 1909 at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers, Masjid Jamek is the oldest mosque in KL. Beautiful Indo-Moorish architecture. Modest dress provided at the entrance for visitors. Access via Masjid Jamek metro station.
Batu Caves
15km north of KL, the Batu caves are an iconic Hindu site — but the LRT ride from the center is a great immersion in the Malaysian melting pot. Admire the religious architecture while enjoying the surrounding gardens.
